What is a Income tax?

An income tax is a tax that governments impose on financial income generated by all entities within their jurisdiction. What is income tax return (ITR) :

An income tax return is a form where taxpayers declare their taxable income, deductions, and tax payments. This procedure of filing income tax returns is referred to as income tax filing. While filing the actuals, the total amount that should go to the government as income tax is calculated.

What is TDS?

Tax Deducted At Source is a system introduced by Income Tax Department, where person responsible for making specified payments such as salary, commission, professional fees, interest, rent, etc. is liable to deduct a certain percentage of tax before making payment in full to the receiver of the payment. As the name suggests, the concept of TDS is to deduct tax at its source. Let us take an example of TDS assuming the nature of payment is professional fees on which specified rate is 10%
